Artist Showcase : Julia Ren

Hey everyone, as part of the blog, I am also going to share amazing artists with you all!

Today, I am featuring the art of Julia Ren, but she is more widely known as ERA-7. She is a professional artist who is very succesful. You can visit her website here. Now, I had an amazing interview with Julia, which is posted below.

Enjoy!

What can you tell me about yourself?

I’m professional certificated digital artist who works for games and movies. Mostly as concept artist and illustrator for different projects. Right now I live in Europe, have my own little studios and acts as an investor in my own projects.

What is your outlook about art in general?

It's hard to say. Art from any side can be magnificent even if we something can't understand. But if you ask me what I prefer more then I say - realism. I think it's one of the awesome styles in art that helps you to show your characters or worlds very real.

What was your last project, and what was its outcome?

My last project was a sci-fi game with different, original creatures. It's pity but I can't tell you the game's name or show you works from it. I just don't have rights on it. The project belongs to one of my clients. Right now I'm working for The Spiritus universe which will include motion books, games, movies and serials. It's very large project and I think that will working for it as minimum the next several years. Maybe longer. Of course I have other commercial projects but they are not so big like The Spiritus.

How would you describe your art?

A mixture of realism and semi-realism I think.

What is your greatest achievement?

Well, in December of previous year I founded my first own studio so I think it's one of the biggest achievements. The second one is that I work for The Spiritus of course.

Who is your favorite artist?

I have a lot of favorite artists. In the past Josh Nizzi inspired me to draw transformers. Right now I'm working with Anry Nemo - the legendary artist from game industry.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

I like to sleep. But if seriously I usually try to improve my skills to another level. It's useful and fun.

What are some of your lifelong dreams?

I want to see The Spiritus on the big screen.

Have you accomplished any of your dreams? If so, what were they?

In 2007 year my dream was to become a digital artist and make realistic transformers. Right now I can do it and can make much more.

What are 5 words that describe you best?

Patient, loyal, cheerful, leader, prudent.

Who has impacted you the most in your life and how?

RealTime School and their instructors. I was studied from the best artists and thank them for everything.

Do you have any regrets?

If I could started to learn CG when I was younger...

Who are your hero's?

All people who helps and teaching me something new.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Will build a non-standard temple.

What is something you have never told anyone?

Well, I'm not just an artist right now but producer too.

Japanese Customs that will seem strange to Americans

Ever wanted to live in Japan? Most people who love Anime and Manga do. But perhaps you should read through this first.

The number four is considered unlucky because word for the number 4 is very similar for the word for death.

Eating while walking is considered very sloppy and is frowned upon.

It's someone's job to push crowded passengers into rush hour trains to keep them from getting caught in the doors.

You're expected to remove your shoes outside of restaurants, homes, museums and temples.

Slurping while eating is considered polite. It stems from the practice of eating piping hot ramen and slurping it so it cools before you eat it.

Tipping is not something that's done in Japan. Small presents are left instead of money.

Dogs? Or something else?

So many people are obsessed with dogs, including me. So I thought I would scour the internet and go out and take pictures of cute little dogs that were...a little different. But all are so lovable.

For starters, answer me this : It this dog Sid from Ice Age?

Are these puppies fried chicken?

What a cute Teddy Bear! Or Teddy Doggie?

I'm at a loss for words...

And here I thought "Muffin" was just a nickname.

Automatic mop!

And now for my personal favorite! Chewbacca! Or as he likes to say "Ahhhhhhrrrrrrr"

Thanks for taking time to look guys!

A few things you should know about your eyes.

Hey everyone, as you all know, your eyes are amazing things. So why not learn some more about them? Well, you can do so by reading the facts below.

Your eyes can get sunburned. UVA and UVB lights affect your eyes just as much as they affect your skin. Although there won't be any visible damage to your eyes, a sunburn can cause them to hurt.

Dogs communicate with us through our eyes. Studies have shown the dogs perceive cues from humans by looking at their eyes.

Some blind people can still see in their dreams. People who once had their sight and later lost it have reported that they can still see in their dreams.

We blink our eyes 28,000 times a day. That means we blink about 15-20 times a minute. This lubricates the eye but researchers also believe it's a way to give our brains short breaks.

Some people have a few of eyes. This fear is called Ommatophobia.

The human eyes can detect more than 10 million Colors.

Are Zombies coming? Is it the way we think? Find out here!

One of the biggest questions today is this : "Will the Zombie Apocalypse come soon?" Well, in all fairness, no one really knows. But we do have clues as to how it could happen.

One of the easiest ways a zombie apocalypse could happen is by puffer-fish? How can that be right? Well, puffer-fish neruotoxins are extremely deadly. Usually only if you eat it. However, it has been proven that if it is rubbed on someones skin, it could cause that person to enter a Zombie-like state. Imagine if someone were to somehow mass produce this in bathing products... Its not exactly zombies, as the people are still "Alive." They are just in a different state. They are still human, but are in pain. They would all likely die of hunger but who's to say they won't rise? If things happen like this, just the touch of them could infect you. Not just a scratch or a bite.

Another way is something we all would expect. Parasites. But which parasites could cause a zombie outbreak? Well, there is one that could easily start something like this. There are 2 really. But I will only go into detail about one, as the other is so major now. The one I won't discuss much is : Ebola. The one I will tell you a little about is : Horsehair worms. These parasites infect their host, lay eggs, and start taking over the brain. As they multiply so fast, it can't really be contained. While these are mainly found in insects, there have been a few cases where humans have been infected. When this parasite takes over the brain...well...zombies could be coming. All we can do is hope that no more of these happens.

This next is pretty terrifying to those who don't like flying things that sting. You know what I'm talking about. Wasps. The Jewel Wasp to be exact. While mainly affecting insects, it could quickly mutate and be harmful to humans. This wasp stings its prey in such a way it, that paralyzes them, then gives them the strength to do simple tasks such as walk. It pretty much turns its prey into zombies. But I doubt that they would kill other humans that then join their ranks. So we could be a little safer with this one. No one can be quite sure though.

Another is Mad Cow Disease. Humans can also contract a version of this disease, known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. The disease actually has similar symptoms to zombie behavior, with one major difference: So far, no one infected with the disease has been reported as acting violently towards other humans. But that could be only a matter of time...

But one of the biggest threat are things you would not expect : Nanobots. But how? Well Scientists have already created a nano-cyborg, by fusing a tiny silicone chip to a virus. The first thing they found out is these cyborgs can still operate for up to a month after the death of the host. Nano Scientist have already went for zombifaction, even though they know the real horror of it. So, this could all easily happen within a decade.

BONUS

I know many of you are wanting to know more about Ebola, so I will share what I know and how it COULD be linked to a zombie Apocalypse. Ebola is a man made disease that is spread by direct contact with any body fluids. Not only direct contact, but second hand usage of any item that has had body fluids of the infected person. Now, it is not directly linked to zombies, although some believe someone infected with Ebola got up after being declared "dead." This person was indeed infected with Ebola, but he did not die. The Ebola virus kept him on the brink of death, but never killed him. It just put him in a minimal living state.

How is Ebola in any way related to zombies? In truth, many people believe it is, but its not. Not today anyway. But, there is a chance that Ebola could be mutated with any of the above, or something else, and become a zombie virus. Not only that, but if Ebola can be created by man, who's to say a real zombie virus can't be made by man?

Well, that's all! Now, everything here is based off of science that has been done. So could it all really happen? Yes, it could.

Anyway, I would like to thank you all for taking the time to read through this blog. Come back soon as I will be doing more posts, not really on zombies, but anything. If you would like to see a blog on anything in specific, please say so in the comments.

Big Bang Beginning

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog! Lets get started with the posts right away shall we?

I happen to be a big Dragon Ball fan so why don't we start off with a big bang?

Alright, how about some interesting facts about Dragon Ball?

Goku has performed the "Kamehameha" a total of 97 times throughout the series.

Actor Sean Shemmel passed out while voicing Goku’s epic transformation to Super Saiyan Level 4 in the English-language dub of Dragon Ball GT.

Bulma goes through 17 different hairstyles throughout the series.

Goku’s mother is a Saiyan known as Gine.

Launch, who appeared throughout the first Dragon Ball series, never appears in Dragon Ball Z because Akira Toriyama “forgot” she existed.

Namekians grow at a faster rate than humans or Saiyans. For this reason, Piccolo is a full grown adult at the age of 3 when he fights Goku at the World Martial Arts Tournament. Also, he’s only four years older than Gohan during the Saiyan saga.

Android 17’s real name is Lapis.

Android 18’s real name is Lazuli.

The fight between Goku and Frieza took up a total of three and a half hours of screen time, making it the longest fight in anime history.

Vegeta has a fear of worms!

Broly and “The Legendary Super Saiyan” are not the same. “The Legendary Super Saiyan” actually Self-destructed as a Golden Oozaru 1,000 years prior to the Saiyans’ arrival to earth.

During the cell games saga, King Kai claimed to know about the “Instant Transmission” technique but never taught it to Goku because he never asked. This means that Goku COULD HAVE arrived to fight the Saiyans and SAVED THE LIVES of Piccolo, Yamcha, Chaotzu and Tien.

Nappa had hair in the past.

The six dots on Krillin’s forehead are from incense burns from his time training to be a monk at Orin Temple.

There are no female Namekians, since they reproduce asexually by giving birth to eggs through their mouth.

Broly’s power level was 10,000 at the time he was born. This would mean that his power level as a baby was stronger than Piccolo (322), Goku (334), and Raditz (1,500) combined.

For a time, Piccolo was the strongest of all the Z Warriors, including Goku and Vegeta, after he fused with Kami, making him stronger than any Super Saiyan.

Goku has a fear of needles and hospital food.

1 Thing I just don't get about Dragon Ball Z...

Mr. Popo
 I mean...come on...
